ABOUT THE BUTTERFLIES

“UR BUTTERFLY” is a hand painted miniature art sculpture created by artist Toni Martin. Inspired by her own traumatic experiences and battles of overcoming mental abuse, self worth, depression, confidence,  and personal growth found in finding a light at the end of the tunnel. Ultimately designing art that others can connect with that stands for strength, beauty and change! There is beauty in change and you have the strength to handle it! The goal is to grow "UR BUTTERFLY" in areas that offer aid to a good cause. Not only is it a beautiful inspirational gift and collectable, but will also help raise money for charities centered around women empowerment and children. Just like a true butterfly we are all uniquely created with our own color pallet and backbone.

“You never know what someone is going through... and compassion is important. Surviving cancer/diagnosis, Chronic pain, Losing a job, Loss of a loved one, Heart surgery/any major surgery Illness, Divorce, Self image issues/eating disorders, Anxiety/depression And many more. Among the many hardships we all face in life it is important to have SELF LOVE, faith, hope, strength, self worth, courage, and never give up. created these pieces to represent growth, compassion, rebirth, self love, uniqueness (as everyone is) and acceptance of change!”- TONI MARTIN

ABOUT TONI

It was in art that Toni Martin found her greatest method of communicating with a world that often didn’t understand her words, giving her a beautiful language that made her feel articulate and free. A self-taught artist with little formal training, Martin has spent the last eight years honing her particular skills through different mediums. The literal definition of the “starving artist,” she has slept on the couches of friends and on the floors of government housing, sacrificing comfort and security in pursuit of her craft. Fortunately for the passionate artist, she has built a career that allows her to use her talent to help others and give back.

Not one to confine herself to one medium, Martin explores art through sculpture, paint, and photography—all of which have been pivotal in giving her a voice that words could not. “It’s highly frustrating when I realize that my brain is lacking the necessary verbal tools needed to convey to other people what it is I am thinking,” Martin says. “Sometimes the only way I can communicate is through paint, shapes, and form. I feel I am trapped in my mind and have developed a language through art that allows me to express myself and feel a connection.”
That connection is a deep one, one that strips her bare and almost implores the viewer to understand her. To create that intense emotion in others, Martin taps into the feelings deep inside and channels them. “I create works of art by using expressive gestures through fluid movement and precise pigment placement, which helps communicate my own emotional vulnerabilities,” she describes. “My vulnerability on many planes allows me to create a sense of empathy shared with the audience. Through immersing myself in a state of flow, my sense of shape, color, and balance develop into an abstract unspoken language, ultimately allowing viewers to go on an emotional journey.”
